Why Sports Media Group and RDX Sports come together to supply combat gyms with new sports equipment.

As a registered social enterprise Why Sports invest time and money into a number of projects that accelerate activity across the UK. The inactivity statistics show that there are a number of reasons why so many people across the United Kingdom are inactive. One of those reasons is access to money to buy the equipment needed to go and enjoy a range of activity options.

This got us thinking - "Is there a way we could supply sports equipment to those that need it most?"

In late 2017 Why Sports joined forces with RDX Sports. RDX Sports is a international combat sports business. Formed in 1999 and based on the outskirts of Manchester England, RDX Sports understands what it takes to be an athlete, an artist and a fighter. With a Worldwide customer base in excess of 200 million RDX has become one of the fastest e-commerce based sports brands in the World. Due to the size, power and reach (see what we did there?!?!) of RDX Sports we realised that our dreams of supplying new sports equipment could soon become a reality.

“this equipment will make a huge difference to the members of my gym.”

When we received the first delivery of combat equipment we were overwhelmed by the quality and volume of equipment. After many late nights of picking and sorting the equipment we were ready to develop our network. First stop, Shinny's Gym in Stockport. Shinny's Gym is run by ex British Bantom Weight Champion, Shinny Bayaar. Shinny opened his gym in 2010 in a hope he could inspire others to follow in his glorious footsteps. The gym is now well established and hosts classes for pro and amateur boxers, women, children, the elderly, disabled and those living with mental health problems.

"Why Sports have always supported me, the lads come to my classes to train and I regularly visit their conferences. To receive this equipment will make a huge difference to the members of my gym." - Shinny Bayaar.

"Throughout the last 3 years we have achieved a number of great things but at the core of our business is our commitment to continue to invest a proportion of our time and profits into projects that serve to make a social impact. We hope that our relationship with RDX continues to flourish and we all get the chance to inspire activity for all." - Why Sports
