NWG Network Learning and Development Event.

NWG Network is a charitable organisation formed as a UK network of over 14,500 practitioners who disseminate our information down through their services, to professionals working on the issue of child exploitation (CE) and trafficking within the UK.

Our network covers voluntary and statutory services and private companies working in this field. We offer support and guidance and raise the profile, provide updates and training, share national developments and influence the development of national and local policy informed by practice. Visit our website here to find out how we can help you tackle Child Exploitation. https://nwgnetwork.org/

NWG very much look forward to welcoming you all to this year’s Annual Learning and Development Event.https://nwgnetwork.org/event/nwg-annual-conference-2023/

We will be allowing you to explore initiatives, discover ways the frontline might improve their support for those they work with, gain an understanding of some of those difficult-to-manage situations, look at staff welfare and the campaigns we can all support to increase awareness and understanding of child exploitation and its impact. We have Claudia Villa-Hughes in a discussion session highlighting her experience as Former Head of Safeguarding Commonwealth Sport and our team showcasing the Safe to Play, Safeguarding in Sport and Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts work.

NWG are delighted to let you know that we have secured additional funding towards covering some of the cost of attending our learning and development week making the event more affordable for all.

The NWG Network is committed to ensuring that both children and adults can enjoy and participate in sports and physical activities safe from harm, abuse, and exploitation. https://nwgnetwork.org/knowledge-hub/safeguarding-in-sport/

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults is everyone’s responsibility. Sports and Physical activities are such an important aspect of many children's and families' lives, sport can be part of the healing process for those who may have been abused, it can also be part of a wider societal initiative to get people to access sport and physical activities to help improve their health. One such initiative is Sport England’s bold and visionary “Uniting the Movement” Strategy which is their new 10-year vision to help transform the lives and communities through sport and physical activity, trying to get individuals and communities physically moving, such an important concept following the nations prolonged period of isolation.

Our 2023 Learning and Development Event takes place in Sheffield on 10th & 11th October - full details and registration at https://www.delegate-reg.co.uk/nwg2023/
