CP Sport create Frame Football resource for the new England Football campaign

England Football, The Football Association’s new home for participation and the grassroots game, has today launched Football Your Way, a new campaign to help disabled footballers return to the sport and reclaim the moments they have missed, as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted across the country.

A new online information hub has been launched to help support and motivate disabled people to feel confident and empowered to take part in football-based activities. Whether that’s at home or in a local park, the campaign will encourage preparation for a return to the court or pitch for players, whenever they feel ready to do so. There is something for all ages and abilities on the Football Your Way hub, from skill demonstrations, to challenges and downloadable resources to suit all abilities and ages.

As part of the partnership work between CP Sport (Cerebral Palsy Sport) and the FA, and with funding support from Toyota Parasport, CP Sport was invited to create new Frame Football skills cards which form part of the resources in the hub. These activity and skills cards, developed using the expertise and knowledge of CP Sport, support individuals to play frame football at home, in the garden or in outdoor spaces with family and friends. They are a great resource to keep players practising and engaged in football. Clubs can also use these cards to support their players.

The Frame Football skills cards are also downloadable from the CP Sport website here

CP Sport COO Adi Fawcett said: "CP Sport is extremely proud to be a part of the Football Your Way campaign. Our mission at CP Sport is to provide as many opportunities as we can for people with cp to enjoy sport and we work closely with our key partners to make this happen. It has been a privilege to work so closely with the FA on this project, to have the financial support of Toyota Parasport and to have produced a resource as part of this campaign that can also be accessed as part of our Frame Football rental service.

I would like to thank the FA for involving us in this project and Toyota Parasport for the funding that made this all possible in the first place. I am extremely proud of the team and would like to thank them all for their hard work in developing the skills cards resource. We are excited to be a part of this growing sport and look forward to seeing more people enjoying Frame Football as we all start to return to play. "

CP Sport works closely with The FA and County FAs to develop club opportunities for people with cerebral palsy. Local clubs can be found through the CP Sport Club Finder: https://www.cpsport.org/club-finder/ or via local County Football Associations (CFA): https://www.englandfootball.com/explore/

CP Sport has partnered with adapted equipment supplier Quest to provide a Game Frame Rental Service. Along with the frame, users will also receive a football, access to online 1-1 coaching and the new skills resource. To rent a frame click here

To further inspire disabled footballers to get active, England Football has also launched the 3 Step Challenge. The challenge encourages players to design their own 3 Step Challenge to help prepare for their return to the pitch, by picking an activity based around the number three. Players are asked to upload their challenges here to be in with a chance of winning an array of prizes. More information on how to get involved and inspiration for challenge ideas are available on the Football Your Way portal

James Kendall, The FA’s Director of Football Development said: “This past year has been some of the most challenging times not just for football, but across society. We know that grassroots football has the power to change people’s lives for the better and the Football Your Way campaign will help to encourage disabled footballers back onto the pitch and playing the game they love. There are plenty of ways for people to get involved, from taking part in challenges to learning new skills, so I’d encourage everyone to get active and give it a go whenever they feel ready to return.”
