Case study provided by Reech Sports Group.
Bluestone is a prestigious resort that has an excellent brand reputation. They intended to create a new play area that would attract and sustain more activity around their village green.
Project Brief
Sunshine was tasked to come up with a design that was to be predominantly made of our Robinia Timber. The brief was to create a play area that had adventure coupled with a village theme to it. Since the aim was to attract footfall to the area, the play space had to be aesthetically pleasing and exciting to attract, engage and retain visitors.
Additionally, the client also wanted to be able to put on a show that could be viewed by the children while they use the play equipment. The unique
challenge of this project was that all this needed to be constructed in 3 weeks, in limited hours of work, and with difficult sight access.
Result
Sunshine created a bespoke design for the village area that centred around a raised stage. The stage had pipework in it so that electrical cables could be channelled.
Our experienced project management team ensured that the project was delivered on time and on budget. The facility included village houses that cater for very young children and children up to the age of 12. There are small houses as well as a large house with a 3m high net! The village coffee shop and the public house has seen an increase in popularity and sales since the installation.
The artificial grass surfacing installed by Sunshine has been popular with people to sit or lie on. But more importantly the facility has become the focal point of the village, where parents and caregivers can enjoy a coffee or two whilst the children play in the village green.
